TRAINING PROFESSIONALS

Ta'ir Rape Crisis Center organizes seminars and trainings for professionals in the legal, therapeutic, welfare and health fields: to provide tools for identifying survivors of sexual assault, to enhance and make more accessible the treatment of survivors in the community, and to present the implications of sexual assault and the specificity of sexual trauma.

Ta'ir supports and provides guidance on a continual basis for professionals who in their ongoing work encounter survivors of rape and sexual assault.

Annually, Ta'ir's staff meet with over 350 professionals through lectures and trainings held at local department of social affairs or welfare organizations, as well as through ongoing professional relations regarding the treatment of cases.

SEMINARS

Seminars or study-days are held in conjunction with various community services or organizations, ranging from social affairs departments, non-profit organizations, to other public institutions – all in accordance with the needs and knowledge of these bodies. The seminars include: information on the scope of sexual violence as a social phenomenon; information on the devastating and wide-spread implications of sexual assault; background on the treatment of sexual trauma; background on the services provided by the rape crisis centers and by other factors in the community; information on legal procedures (criminal and civil) in cases of sexual assault, and accompaniment by Ta'ir throughout the legal procedures in order to ensure the rights of the survivor.

TRAINING THERAPISTS

Ta'ir holds trainings for therapists about the treatment of sexual trauma. The trainings present methods and tools for identifying, diagnosing and treating survivors of rape and sexual assault. They focus on instruction through case-studies based on participants' professional experience. The trainings include theoretical knowledge regarding the meanings, implications and treatment of sexual assault: sexual abuse in childhood and incest; the effects of the abuse in the long and in the short term; the therapeutic relationship; principles of therapy fur survivors and the process of therapy and recovery.

The trainings discuss different intervention methods and the dilemmas entailed in the intricate treatment of survivors of rape and sexual assault.

Our goal in providing these trainings is to expand the circle of therapists in our region who can offer support to survivors.

TRAINING POLICE OFFICERS AND INVESTIGATORS

Ta'ir conducts training programs for investigators, police officers, judges and prosecutors regarding the implications of sexual trauma in the criminal justice procedures.
