In Israel there are nine rape crisis centers who provide free assistance to women and men who experienced sexual assault and need guidance and support. Our assistance hotlines are operated by hundreds of volunteers across Israel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
After the sexual assault you may experience any number of common symptoms which can occur immediately after the assault or years later. Symptoms may include: instability and unrest; insomnia; reliving the event; obsessive behavior; nervousness and stress; lack of appetite; feelings of guilt; lack of concentration; memory loss or difficulty remembering; and feelings of shame.
It is important to know – you are not alone – throughout every step of the process the rape crisis centers are there to support you. Experienced volunteers are available 24 hours a day to listen and give emotional support while protecting your privacy.
